DAY 12 after my op and I’m feeling pretty good, unlike yesterday when I felt wrecked and slept through half a dozen episodes of Move To the Country.
Surprising, I know, but no alcohol was involved either, just two cups of Bettys hot chocolate and a prawn and avocado sandwich. (NB to Bettys. Your illiterate name really bugs me, why are you rationing apostrophes?).
I was with my close friend Celia who gave me a lovely necklace of a silver angel to watch over me. We talked about her beautiful daughter Laura a lot and the design of her gravestone.
I haven’t been able to get up to Stonefall with pink flowers for Laura since Christmas but it’s top of my ‘to do’ list as soon as I can drive again. I love the peace of Stonefall on a cold frosty Sunday morning and I think of Laura and the children every day.
Been thinking a lot about my charmed life too, and how much everyone in it means to me. I was a Samaritan for three years and when you talk to people who have lost their jobs, homes, families and health and have nothing to live for, you realise just how much you really have.
